A former lode Au mine located 3.2 km (2.0 miles) E of Quiggs Mountain (coordinates of record), along Murray Creek (3½ miles W of Mountain Ranch; on the ridge above Murray Creek). MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in slate. The ore body strikes E and dips S. The deposit is comprised of 2 small veins. The hanging wall vein averages 3 inches (7.5 cm) in thickness and the footwall vein averages 1 foot (340 cm) in thickness. The filling between the veins is porphyry. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include underground openings with an overall depth of 30.48 meters and comprised of a vertical 92 foot shaft plus a 40 and a 100 foot deep shafts and a 300 foot adit.
Ore was said to average $30 per ton (period values).
