A former lode Au mine located in the SW¼ sec. 13, T2N, R13E, MDM, 0.7 km (0.4 mile) S of Carson Hill (town) (on the NE slope of Carson Hill (summit), just W of the Morgan Hill Mine). Operated during the period 1856 to 1931. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters. A property with the Carson Hill Gold Mining Company Mines (Carson Hill Mines) group.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in amphibolite, schist and greenstone. The ore body is 30.48 meters wide. The bull vein has a 100 foot thick zone of mineralized schist on the footwall. Local rocks include undivided pre-Cenozoic metavolcanic rocks, unit 2 (undivided).
Workings include surface and underground openings with an overall depth of 141.73 meters. The mine is developed by open cuts. The Bull vein was excavated to form the Morgan glory hole. There are also 2 adits (465 feet and 400 feet) and a 350 foot inclined shaft on the E vein.
