A former Au mine located in the N½ sec. 34, T4N, R13E, MDM, 0.7 km (0.4 mile) ENE of Esmeralda, along Indian Creek (on the ridge between Indian Creek and San Antonio Creek; E of Esmeralda School). Operated in 1886 to approximately 1900. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit with a vein 3 to 4 feet thick, hosted in slate. The ore body strikes W and dips 68N at a thickness 1.22 meters. Dikes reported with ore shoots. Numerous bodies of talc occur in the country rock slate; just S is green schist. Slates are part of the Calaveras Formation. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include underground openings with an overall depth of 76.2 meters and comprised of a 430 foot inclined shaft and at least 500 feet of drifts.

Analytical data results: The ore was reported to contain $32 per ton Au (period values - 1888).
