A Au occurrence located in secs. 8, 9, 10 & 11, T4N, R13E, MDM, 2.4 km (1.5 miles) SW of Mountain Ranch, along the North Fork Willow Creek. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a placer Au deposit. The gravel is tight and contains some large boulders. Deposit was estimated to contain some 5,000,000 cubic yards of gravel. The deposit will probably average about 100 yards (300 feet) in width and be from 10 to 20 feet deep. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include surface operations. The deposit was worked with a power shovel and a washing plant.
Recovery in 1901 from Rose Hill was 37 (? - $37 or $0.37) a cubic yard and less in following years.
