A former Au mine located in the NE¼ sec. 33 and in the NW¼ sec. 34, T4N, R13E, MDM, 0.7 km (0.5 mile) NW of Esmeralda (S side of San Antonio Creek; 1 mile S of Fricot School Ranch). Operated prior to the 1880's and during the period 1910 to 1918. Some surface prospecting done since 1918. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 or 1,000 meters (2 MRDS files).

Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in slate and mica schist. The ore body strikes W and dips 75N at a thickness of 1.83 meters. Situated on the central; vein of the Esmeralda vein system. Abundant sulfides and leaf gold found in considerable amounts in high-grade ore in the upper portion of the deposit. Numerous bodies of talcose schist occur in the country rock. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).

Workings include underground openings comprised of a 700 foot SE-trending crosscut adit to the vein, then almost 1,000 feet of drifts extended to the E & W. Several levels and sub-levels were developed.

No production record found.

Reserve/resource data are found in: Clark, Wm. B. & P.A. Lydon (1962).
