A marble (dimension) deposit/quarry located in the NW¼ sec. 28, T3N, R14E, MDM, 2.4 km (1.5 miles) ENE of Moaning Cavern, along Skunk Gulch on Table Mountain, on a 160 acre homestead. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is a metamorphic marble deposit. The marble is nearly white with faint gray veining. Local rocks include Tertiary pyroclastic and volcanic mudflow deposits, unit 9 (Cascade Range).
Workings include surface openings. The main pit is 30 feet long, 10 feet wide and 10 feet deep.
A small amount was shipped prior to 1915.
30 years ago there was some equipment on this land (air compressor, hoist, derricks) and it was said some shipments had been made. Some work was done in 1925, but no production was recorded.
