A former lode Au mine located in the SE¼ sec. 28, T4N, R13, MDM, 1.5 km (1.0 mile) NNW of Esmeralda (site), ½ mile SW of the Fricot Ranch School, and NNW of San Antonio Camp (site). Operated intermittently during the period 1919 to 1942. The surface was being prospected when the USGS MRDS dta were compiled. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is vein deposit hosted in mica schist and slate. The ore body is 1.22 meters thick. The vein is a blanket quartz vein. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a glory hole and 300 foot adit that had not yet reached the vein as of the time of the USGS MRDS data collection. There are also shallow shafts and two 100 foot tunnels.
