A placer Au occurrence located in secs. 14 & 15, T3N, R14E, MDM, about 6 km ESE of Murphys, near the terminus of the Ponderosa Way (road/trail). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a placer Au deposit located on the Central Hill paleochannel. Local rocks include Limestone of probable Paleozoic or Mesozoic age and/or Tertiary pyroclastic and volcanic mudflow deposits, unit 9 (Cascade Range).
