A former hydraulic placer Au-Ag mine located in secs. 13 & 14, T4N, R9E, MDM, 0.2 km (0.1 mile) ESE of Cat Camp and 1.2 km (0.7 mile) SW of Camanche (an area of tailings is clearly depicted on the topo map). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is a placer Au-Ag deposit hosted in gravels. Local rocks include Miocene nonmarine rocks.
Workings included surface operations. A non-floating washing plant operated for 6 months of 1941 and again in 1942.
Production data: The 1941 work yielded 605 ounces Au and 34 ounces Ag from 100,000 cubic yards of gravel. In 1942, Cat Camp placers and the Burson Mining Co. produced 483 ounces of Au and 32 ounces of Ag from 71,818 cubic yards of gravel.
