A Au mine located in the E½ sec. 20, T4N, R14E, MDM, along Indian Creek, about 3.35 km S of Sheep Ranch (3½ miles N of Murphys). Operated in the late 1880's. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is vein deposit hosted in mica schist. The ore body strikes W and dips N. Sulfides are abundant at this deposit. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include underground openings comprised of 2 W-trending drift adits. An arrastre was used to treat the ore.
