A placer/drift Au occurrence/prospect/mine located in sec. 20, T3N, R14E, MDM, 1.4 km (0.9 mile) ENE of Vallecito, N of Bald Mountain, along Dry Creek. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters. Last prospected by Gordon Scheckler of Stockton, California.
Local rocks include Tertiary pyroclastic and volcanic mudflow deposits, unit 9 (Cascade Range).
Workings include underground openings comprised of an old, inclined shaft, which was deepened until it struck gravel at 400 feet. A 100 foot crosscut was then driven, mostly through altered granite, but the gravel channel was never found.
