A former lode Au mine located in the SW¼ sec. 15, T5N, R11E, MDM, about 3.35 km N of Paloma, along Rich Gulch just S of its confluence with the main channel Mokelumne River. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains) and/or Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a shaft and 2 adits plus a prospect hole, based on symbols on the topo map (Jackson quadrangle map (1962)).
