A Au occurrence located in sec. 15, T1N, R13E, MDM, about 3.4 km (2.1 miles) NE of Sugarloaf Mountain, along the Stanislaus River downstream from the New Melones Dam. Owned by the Oakland Title Insurance and Guaranty Co. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is not stated.
NOTE: The geographic coordinates provided in USGS MRDS file #10259997 place this locality on the Tuolumne side of the Stanislaus River, while the coordinates presented in file #10027957 place it on the Calaveras side river bank. The data from the latter file are presented here.
Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains).
