A former placer Au deposit/mine located in secs. 1, 2, 4, 10,11 & 12, T4N, R9E, MDM, 1.5 km (0.9 mile) NNW of Camanche, along the Mokelumne River and the Calaveras County-Amador County line, now inundated beneath Camanche Reservoir. Active in Camanche area during the period 1914-1922. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is a placer Au deposit along the Mokelumne River. Local rocks include Miocene nonmarine rocks.
Workings included surface dredging operations conducted along the Mokelumne River, near Camanche and westward.
Production data: Worked 22 million (22,000,000) cubic yards of gravel with an average recovery of $10.25 (?) (period values) per cubic yard. Tailings symbols shown on topo map in these sections. Numerous gravel mines shown in folio No. 11.
