A former lode Au mine located in secs. 20 & 21, T5N, R13E, MDM, about 6 km N of Mountain Ranch and about 8.3 km E of Jesus Maria, on the ridge between Jesus Maria Creek and Espernaza Creek. Operated in 1877, in the early 1890's, and 1913-1914. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.

Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in mica schist and slate. The ore body strikes NW and dips NE at a thickness of 0.46 meters. The vein is asslociated with dikes. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).

Workings include underground openings with a length of 214.88 meters and an overall depth of 53.34 meters. Developed by several shafts up to 175 feet deep, 350 feet of adits and 180 feet of drifts. Some shafts were re-timbered during 1913.

The ore is free-milling ansd was treated in a 5-stamp mill. Ore yielded $19 to $34 (period values) per ton Au.
