A former lode Au mine located in the SE¼ sec. 18, T6N, R13E, MDM, 2.1 km (1.3 miles) NNE of Glenco along the South Fork Mokelumne River. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters. UTM accurate; latitude-longitude values calculated from T&R & section.
NOTE: USGS MRDS file #10284091 places this mine in sec. 17, while MRDS file #10102780 places it in sec. 18. The topo map clearly shows it in the SE¼ sec. 18 as a named mine. The coordinates presented in this Mindat file are taken from the topo map (center of workings).
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in granodiorite. The ore body strikes E and dips 75S. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include underground openings comprised of 2 adits. The upper adit is 250 feet long and the lower adit is 160 feet down vein from the upper adit with no reported length.
