Big Five; Big Five Esterbrook
A former Cu-Zn occurrence/mine located in the SW¼SW¼ sec. 10, T28N, R71W, 6th. Principal Meridian, 2,500 feet NNE of the Three Cripples Mine, N of Three Cripples Creek, on National Forest land. The USGS MRDS database stated accuracy for this locality is 500 meters.
The dump near a 50 foot shaft contained pyrrhotite with only bunches of chalcopyrite associated with quartz and feldspar. Traces of sphalerite also reported. Local rocks include metasedimentary and metavolcanic rocks.
Workings include unspecified underground openings with an overall depth of 15.24 meters (50 feet).
