A former lode Au-Cu mine located in the N½SE¼, lot 41 sec. 28, T19N, R5E, MDM, 3.3 km (2.0 miles) SW of Hurleton and 5.1 km (3.2 miles) ENE of Wyandotte (0.6 mile S of Phoenix Hill). Owned by A. E. Jones, Oroville, California. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in granodiorite. The ore body is ribbon-shaped, strikes N20E and dips 60E at a thickness of 2.44 meters. Wall rocks described as decomposed. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include underground openings comprised os a 105 foot shaft, short drifts and some stoping.
Analytical data results: The ore carried 3% Fe, Cu sulfides.
