A former Cr (and Au ?) mine located in sec. 20, T23N, R4E, MDM, 2.3 km (7,600 feet) NNE of Sawmill Peak (coordinates of record), along Empire Creek, on National Forest land. Owned and operated by A.M. Glover and R. Parkeson (1943). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
NOTE: Both MRDS files state that this was a Cr mine and lists Chromite as a mineral occurrence; however, Pemberton (1983) states that it was a Au mine.
Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 6 (Northwestern Sierra Nevada).
