A former placer Au mine located in sec. 8, T24N, R3E, MDM, 2.6 km (8,400 feet) NNW of Platte Mountain (coordinates of record), along Big Chico Creek (along highway 32, 5 miles E of Forest Ranch, N on Diamond National Road No. 100). Owned and operated by Bob Miller, Chico, California 95926 (1981). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Local rocks include Tertiary pyroclastic and volcanic mudflow deposits, unit 9 (Cascade Range).
