A Au placer deposit located in the S½ sec. 3 & in sec. 10 (drift was in sec. 10), T22N, R3E, MDM (original record had no geographic coordinates; these coordinates were derived from the PLSS description provided), 2.8 km (9,100 feet) NNW of Paradise, along Little Butte Creek, opposite its confluence with Middle Butte Creek. Operated by Jack L. Post, Chico, California. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in shore gravels. Local rocks include Tertiary pyroclastic and volcanic mudflow deposits, unit 9 (Cascade Range) and/or Upper Cretaceous marine rocks, unit 1 (Upper Great Valley Sequence).
Workings include unspecified underground openings (NOTE: This is described as a placer deposit).
