A former lode Au mine located in the N½NW¼ sec. 4, T19N, R6E, MDM, 4.5 km (2.8 miles) NW of Forbestown, along the South Fork Feather River arm of (1.5 miles NW of Sunset Hill), on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in quartz diorite. Ore is discontinuous quartz stringers and silicified zones in altered quartz diorite. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include surface openings comprised of several shallow pits.
