A former Cr mine located in sec. 5, T22N, R5E, and in sec. 31, T23N, R6E, MDM (Workings of this deposit are E of the Oroville-Quincy highway, a little N of the bridge over the North Fork Feather River), 2.6 km (8,500 feet) NW of Big Bar Mountain, along the North Fork Feather River. Owned and operated by J. H. Brassell (100%), Pluga, California (1976). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.

Mineralization is a Cr deposit hosted in dunite. The ore body is podiform/lenticular in form (possibly also fissure vein), strikes N80E and dips SE at a width of 4.57 meters. The primary mode of origin was magmatic differentiation and the primary ore control was lithology. Fracturing was the secondary mode of ore control. Wall rock alteration is moderate and involved the serpentinization of dunite. Local rocks include Ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains).
Workings include surface and underground openings with an overall length of 7.62 meters and an overall width of 4.57 meters. They consisted of an open cut, a 15 foot drift in the face of the cut, and a small pit.
