A Mn-Au occurrence/prospect located in the SE¼NW¼ sec. 10, T21N, R4E, MDM, 1.4 km (4,600 feet) SSE of Yankee Hill, on patented (private) land. Owned and operated by W. C. Josephson, Oroville, California. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10,000 meters (sic).
The ore body strikes N45W and dipd 75E. Black manganese oxide occurring in chert is enclosed in black slate or phyllite. The ore bodies are tabular with a total thickness of about 10 feet and are mostly soft pyrolusite, intermingled with white silica. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 6 (Northwestern Sierra Nevada).
Workings include surface openings comprised of several pits.
No production.
