A former lode Au mine located in the NE¼NW¼ (estimated) sec. 33, T20N, R6E, MDM, about 3¼ miles NNW of Forbestown, just N of the Ponderosa diversion dam, Ponderosa Reservoir (1.5 miles S of Kanaka Peak). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a Au deposit hosted in granodiorite. The ore body is 0.91 meters thick. Quartz stringers and veins to 3 feet wide strike ENE in granodiorite. ocal rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include surface openings comprised of several pits.
