A former lode Au mine located in the SW¼ sec. 36, T24N, R3E, MDM, 1.2 km (3,800 feet) WSW of Lovelock (at the Toadtown site). Owned by P. J. McHugh, Desable, California. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in diorite. The ore body is lens-shaperd. Local rocks include Tertiary pyroclastic and volcanic mudflow deposits, unit 9 (Cascade Range) and/or Paleozoic metavolcanic rocks, unit 3 (Northwestern Sierra Nevada).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 45 degree incline, 150 feet deep plus a N drift 70 feet long, and a S drift 18 feet long on the 150 level.
A strike of high-grade ore was made in September, 1930, and yielded several hundred dollars besides fine specimens. No other production data were found.
