A former Cr mine located in sec. 32 (assumed spot on topo map center NE of NE), T23N, R4E, MDM, 1.1 km (3,700 feet) E of Sawmill Peak (coordinates of record). Owned by R. E. Miller, Yankee Hill, California (1976). Lessee/operator R. Parkeson, California (1976). Discovered and first produced in 1943. Lessee/operator A. M. Glover, California (1976). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 to 1,000 meters.
The ore body is irregular in shape with a strike and dip of N75W. The primary mode of origin was magmatic differentiation. Primary ore control was lithology. The degree of wallrock alteration is unknown (carbonitization). Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains).
Workings include surface and underground openings consisting of shallow trenches and and 2 shallow shafts.
