A former lode Au mine located in the N½ (estimated) sec. 15, T22N, R5E, MDM (location estimated from description in reference), 2.3 km (7,400 feet) ESE of Big Bar Mountain (coordinates of record), on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in granite. The ore body strikes NE and dips 45SE. Local rocks include Permian marine sedimentary rocks, unit 2 (Northwestern Sierra Nevada).
Workings include underground openings comprised of 2 adits, 600 and 1,700 feet long, with 3 raises. The first, 300 feet from the mouth of the tunnel, reaches surface at 75 feet; the second, 400 feet in, reaches surface 125 feet; and, the third, 1,200 feet from the portal, reaches surface in 318 feet.
