A former lode Au mine located N of center of the NE¼ sec. 20, T6N, R11E, MDM, 1.1 km (0.7 mile) ESE of Martell, E of the adjoining Kennedy Mine and E of highways 49/88, on private land. Operated by B. Monte Verda and E. C. Taylor. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a quartz vein deposit hosted in greenstone and slate. The ore body strikes NW and dips steeply NE at a thickness of 1.83 meters. The footwall is greenstone and the hanging wall is slate to the E. The vein is 2 to 6 feet thick. The fissure carries a large body of gouge on the footwall. The vein is mostly high-grade and carries a high percentage of sulfides. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 160 foot shaft, a 40 foot drift at the 40 foot level and a 300 foot drift at the 160 level.
