A Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 2, T7N, R12E, MDM, about 5.3 km NNE of Volcano, S of the South Fork Dry Creek. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
NOTE: The coordinates provided in the USGS MRDS file (38°37'3"N, 120°29'11"W) place this locality in El Dorado County. Research of the coordinates for the center of sec. 2, T7N, R12E revealed that the MRDS-furnished coordinates were in error. The "minutes" values for the latitude and longitude were switched, correct coordinates are 38°29'3"N, 120°37'11"W, placing it in the T&R section stated in the MRDS file.
Local rocks include Tertiary pyroclastic and volcanic mudflow deposits, unit 9 (Cascade Range).
Workings include unspecified underground openings (topo map reflects an adit symbol in proximity of the corrected coordinates).
