A former Au mine located W of the NE¼SW¼ center of sec. 25, T7N, R10E, MDM, 1.1 km (0.7 mile) SE of New Chicago and 1.4 km (4,500 feet) NNW of Amador City, 2.6 km (8,700 feet) ESE of Drytown, and about 4 miles S of Plymouth, on private land. Property was comprised of a 22 acre claim. Operated by the Treasure Mining Co. Operated prior to 1867 and during the period 1907 to 1922. Mine idle since. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
A disseminated ore body 700 feet long and 18 feet wide occurs in schist and was developed on the 1,000 foot level. The best ore was above the 2,320 level. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 1,600 foot inclined shaft, winzes which reach an inclined depth of 3,030 feet. Levels are 160 feet apart. Mill. The 1,600 foot level of this mine was connected with the 1,500 foot level of the Bunker Hill Mine to the S.
Produced 5,000 tons of ore prior to 1867. Mine was idle until it was acquired by the Treasure Mining Co. in 1907 and worked until 1922. Total production was about $1,000,000.
