A former lode Au mine located in sec. 36, T7N, R10E, (part located in sec. 31, T11E) MDM, 0.7 km (0.4 mile) SE of Amador City, E of highway 49, on private land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is a quartz vein deposit hosted in greenstone and slate. The ore body strikes NW and dips 52NE at a thickness of 15.24 meters. The footwall is slate and the hanging wall is greenstone, with a quartz vein between the walls. Heavy gouge on the footwall is common. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings comprised of 3 inclined shafts at 1,200 feet, 600 feet & 600 feet in depth, respectively, with extensive drifts. The first 2 shafts are on the vein. The third shaft is in greenstone.
