A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in the SW¼NE¼ sec. 35, T8N, R10E, MDM, 2.4 km (1.5 miles) N of Plymouth, E of highway 49 and Big Indian Creek, on private land. Operated by K. Pierovich. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a quartz vein deposit hosted in greenstone and slate. The ore body is tabular in form, strikes N13W and dips 65E at a thickness of 6.1 meters and a width of 60.96 meters. The footwall is greenstone and the hanging wall is slate. The vein averages 5 to 6 feet in thickness and in one place widens to 20 feet. It consists of 2 strata separated by thin seams of gouge and slate. It occurs at 2 exposures on the surface due to repetition caused by faulting. The quartz carries minor sulfides with some free gold. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings comprised of an inclined shaft 365 feet deep on the vein.
