A former lode Au mine located in sec. 33, T7N, R13E, MDM, about 4 km E of Pioneer, on the slope of the W ridge North Fork Mokelumne River (½ mile NE of the West Point power house). Property located and patented in 1928. Owned by the Pacific Gas and Electric Co. (1953). Outcrops worked superficially in the early days by Chinese and Mexicans. Operated during the period 1928 to 1933. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.
Mineralization is hosted in granodiorite. The ore body strikes NW and dips 90 at a thickness of 3.05 meters. The quartz vein is 1 to 10 feet thick. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include underground openings comprised of an adit 1,400 feet long, a 200 foot winze and stopes to surface.
A total of $160,000 (period values) had been taken from the mine by the end of 1933, when the mine was closed.
