A former lode Au mine located in the SW¼ sec. 24, T7N, R10E, MDM, 0.7 km (0.4 mile) NNE of New Chicago, and 1.8 km (1.1 mile) E of Drytown and about 3 miles S of Plymouth, at the head of Snake Gulch, on private land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters. NOTE: Coordinates presented in the USGS MRDS files were adjusted to correspond to the exact locality of this mine as reflected on the topo map.
Mineralization is hosted in greenstone and slate. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include unspecified underground openings (the topo map reflects an adit and possibly a shaft).
