A former clay-alumina-Fe-silica deposit/mine located in sec. 15, T6N, R9E, MDM, 0.5 km (0.3 mile/1,800 feet) N of Clarksona, on the lower W slope of Indian Hill (summit). Owned by California Mineral Products Co., California (1943); Yosemite Portland Cement Co., California (1943); Smith V. Parker, California (1943); Mrs. Emma Maxwell, California (1943); Pacific Portland Cement Co., California (1943). Mineral rights holdings include fee ownership, private lease & minerals only. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
The ore body strikes and dips N20W and is 30 meters thick, 731 meters wide, 2,377 meters long and has a depth-to-top of 3.6 meters covering an area of 342 HA. The ore body is sedimentary and tabular. The primary mode of origin was sedimentation and the secondary mode was residual concentration. Primary ore control was lithology. There is no wallrock alteration. The average thickness of unconsolidated material is 3.6 meters. Local rocks include Eocene nonmarine rocks, unit 1 (Northern and Central California).
Workings include surface openings comprised of open pits.

The Al grade specified represents total Al content rather than available Al content. The dry analysis is 30% Al, 2.4% Fe, and 51% SiO2.
