A Au occurrence/prospect located in secs. 33 & 34, T7N, R12E, MDM, about 4 km S of Barton, E of the West Point power house, along the North Fork Mokelumne River (about 2½ miles W of Volcano), on private land. Operated by E. A. Trask. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a quartz vein deposit hosted in ruin granite and slate. The ore body strikes NE and dips 65SE. The vein averages 2 feet in thickness. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada) and/or Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 700 foot adit on the vein.
