A former Cr mine located in the NW¼SW¼ sec. 2, T5N, R10E, MDM, 2.8 km (1.8 miles) NNW of Chrome Mountain (coordinates of record) and 4.5 km (2.8 miles) SE of Sunnybrook, on a located claim. Owned by J.M. Ellis, California (1976). Operated by J. M. Ellis. Operated during WWI. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.

The ore body strikes N30W and dips 30N at a thickness (& length ?) of 76 meters. The body is disseminated, lenticular in form. The primary mode of origin was magmatic differentiation and primary otre control was lithology. Wallrock alteration is intense (carbonitization). Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains)
and/or Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).

Workings include surface openings comprised of 1 small pit and a number of prospect trenches.

About 10 tons of ore is stacked at the pit, but has never been shipped. A sample of this ore contained 40.22% of chromic oxide. Reserves are probably less than 50 tons.
