A former lode Au mine located in sec. 36, T7N, R10E, MDM (at the common quarter line of sec. 36, R10E and sec. 31 of R11E), 0.7 km (0.5 mile) NE of Amador City, on the lower E slope of Bunker Hill (summit) and ESE of Bunker Hill (town), N side of Amador Creek, on private land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a quartz vein deposit hosted in greenstone and slate. The ore body is pinch-and-swell to tabular in form at a thickness of 1,83 meters. The vein is 4 to 6 feet thick. The footwall is slate and the hanging wall is greenstone. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings comprised of an inclined shaft at 45 degrees and 300 feet deep.
Analytical data results: The ore carries a large percentage of sulfides assaying from $50 to $80 (period values) per ton. Ore said to be low-grade assaying $4 to $6 (period values (Au ??) per ton.
