A former placer Au occurrence/mine located in the SE¼NE¼S½ sec. 8 & in the NW¼ sec. 17, T5N, R10E, MDM, 1.3 km (0.8 mile) ENE of Buena Vista, along Jackson Creek. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. Several different operators have been said to have had operations in the Jackson Valley.

Local rocks include Eocene nonmarine rocks, unit 1 (Northern and Central California).

Workings include surface dredge operations.
