A former lode Au-Ag-Pb-Fe mine located in sec. 9, T6N, R12E, MDM, 0.9 km (0.6 mile) NNE of Clinton, E of Jackson Creek (about 8 miles NE of Jackson), on private land. Operated by Charles Wieland. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.

NOTE: There is a dead end mining road and two mine shafts indicated in the NW¼ of the section. The coordinates for the shaft near the end of the road are: 38.39178N, 120.66313W. This mine(s) are not named on the topo map.

Mineralization is a quartz vein deposit hosted in slate. The ore body strikes NE and dips 56NW at a thickness of 10.36 meters. There are 2 veins. The gold is associated with galena, iron & iron sulfides and also occurs as unspecified tellurides. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).

Workings include underground openings comprised of a 680 foot shaft on one vein, intersected by a 1,000 foot adit leading from the other vein and crossing the intersection of the veins at 280 feet.
