A Cu occurrence/prospect located in sec. 10, T5N, R10E, MDM, 2.9 km (1.8 miles) NW of Chrome Mountain (coordinates of record), S of Jackson Creek, on private land. Discovered in 1864. Operated in the 1860's. Now owned by the East Bay Municipal Utility District, Oakland, California (Pardee Reservoir land). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in diabase, amphibolite and schist. The ore is decomposed ironstone and sulfides. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings with an overall depth of 36.58 meters and comprised of 1 shaft.
