A former lode Au mine located in sec. 13, T7N, R10E, MDM, about 2.5 km N of New Chicago and about 3 km (1½ miles) NE of Drytown, along Dry Creek. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a quartz vein deposit hosted in greenstone. The veins are 3 to 8 feet, 18 feet and 2 feet thick, respectively. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 565 foot shaft on the vein, passing into the footwall, with crosscuts on the 150 foot, 250 foot & 350 foot levels.
