A former lode Au mine located in sec. 23, T8N, R10E, MDM, 0.5 km (0.3 mile) SE of Enterprise and about 4 miles N of Plymouth, E of Big Indian Creek (N of the Amador Star Mine), on private land (agricultural patent). Operated by the California Lands Inc., C/O Capital Co. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in greenstone and slate. Several veins occur on the property. High-grade sulfides are associated with the Au. No geologic description. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings with an overall depth of 304.8 meters, and comprised of a 1,065 foot 81 degree inclined shaft with levels at 300, 400, 500, 600, 750 and 830 feet.
Production data are found in: Logan, Clarence August (1934).
This mine opened in the early 1890's and had reported production of about $34,000 (period values) during the period 1892 to 1897. It was reopened in 1899 and from 1900 to 1905 production was small and irregular, about $24,000 (period values) in all. Last production was in 1909, but an unknown amount was produced since, since it was worked in conjunction with the Amador Star Mine. It was dewatered in 1934 and worked on the 300 level in 1935.
