A former lode Au mine located in sec. 29, T6N, R11E, MDM, 1.1 km (0.7 mile) WSW of Jackson proper, along Jackson Creek, on private land. Operated by Ralph McGee. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in slate and diabase. A quartz vein lies between a sl;ate hanging wall and a diabase footwall. The diabase is brecciated. The slate bedding, which is 200 feet thick, is surrounded by the diabase. The vein branches , cropping out in two locations on the surface. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 420 foot vertical shaft. At 375 feet a 60 degree inclined shaft 600 feet (deep ?). Drifts were driven at the bottom of the vertical shaft for 500 feet.
