A Mn occurrence located in the NE¼NE¼ sec. 14, T4S, R3E, MDM, 3.5 km (2.2 miles) E of Mendenhall Springs, along the western slope of Crane Ridge. Owned by Leslie Holm (1950). Owned by Horace T. Overacker, California (1974). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
The ore body is 1.83 meters thick and consists largely of massive grey chert with pockets and bands of Mn oxides. Another body of green massive chert 3 feet thick is stained by Mn and lies within bedded chert and shale. Yet another body is comprised of very siliceous ore. Mineralization is ore bodies in a lens of massive _____ (chert ?), folded into an anticline which pitches to the S. The main body of the lens lies on the SW limb of the fold, dipping 25 degrees to the W. Local rocks include rocks of the Franciscan melange.
Workings include surface openings comprised of small open cuts, a 10 foot drift on the main body and a tunnel on the second body and a small trench on the last body.
