A pumice occurrence and producing mine located in secs. 13, 14, 23 & 24, T23N, R7E, G&SRM, 0.8 km (0.5 mile) E of Sugarloaf Peak (coordinates of record) (the USGS MRDS database file states that the USGS used a central location on the E side of Sugarloaf Peak (arbitrary ?), on National Forest land. Owned by Arizona Tufflite Inc. The MRDS stated accuracy for this locality is 1,000 meters.

Mineralization is a pumice deposit hosted in rhyolite. The ore body is 60.96 meters (about 200 feet) thick. The pumice fragments are coarse to fine, angular to rounded, bedded or unsorted, and locally consolidated. Local rocks include Holocene to middle Pliocene volcanic rocks.
