An U occurrence/group of claims located in the SW¼NE¼ sec. 12, T40N, R7E, G&SRM, 8.3 km (5.2 miles) NNE of Marble Canyon (town), 1.3 miles NW of Lees Ferry, on the E side of the Paria River, on National Recreation Area land. The USGS MRDS stated accuracy for this locality is 500 meters.
Mineralization is an U deposit hosted in Late Cretaceous sandstone of the Shinarump Member of the Chinle Formation. The ore body is comprised of fragments (float) hosted in Yavapai series rocks. The deposit is located along the contact at the base of the host rock and the unit below called the Moenkapi formation (limy sandstone, shaly siltstone and mudstone), and in an intraformational sandy band about 10 feet from the base of the host rock. Radiation level is 80x background levels. Local rocks include rocks of the Chinle Formation and/or the Moenkopi Formation.
Metahewettite and possibly other uranium minerals are associated with carbon matter plus copper and iron staining in a Shinarump Member channel deposit.
Workings include surface openings comprised of a small pit.
No production figures were found.
Analysis test results: Ca-stained float indicates 0.20% U3O8.
