Mineralization is tyuyamunite and metahewettite in pods with clay hosted in Late Cretaceous sandstone. The ore body is 0.91 meter (3 feet) thick and 152.4 meters (about 500 feet) long. The deposit shows tyuyamunite-coated quartz grains in somewhat discontinuous bands. Tyuyamunite coating quartz grains in discontinuous bands along bedding in a carbonaceous sandstone just below the middle member of the Toreva Formation. Local rocks include sedimentary rocks of the Late Cretaceous Mesaverde Group.
Workings included surface openings comprised of open pits and rim cuts.
