A former U-V occurrence/mine located in the approximate NE¼, sec. 31, T39N, R3lE, G&SRM, 16.4 km (10.2 miles) N of Red Valley (Red Rock) (outside this mining district), near the head of Oak Springs Wash, adjacent to the Gravel Cap Mine.
Mineralization is carnotite and tyuyamunite in irregular, tabular layers hosted in Late Jurassic claystone, siltstone and sandstone of the Salt Wash Member of the Morrison Formation. Ore is found in clusters, usually associated with carbonaceous detritus. The ore zone occurs 54 feet above the lower contact with Bluff sandstone. Channeling and cross-lamination are noted.
